Progress towards a common EU-Defence Policy?

“Progress towards a common EU-Defence Policy?

Secretary General of the Austro-French Centre Wolfgang Wosolsobe will discuss with Colonel Frédéric PESME, Deputy at the Euroatlantic Division at the French Armed Forces, about the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and the newer European approach of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO). The discussion will be moderated by Dominique David, President of the Austro-French Centre.

Several month after the decision was taken to relaunch the Europe of the Defence (“Europe de la Défense), the status quo of the PESCO will be examined. What was the trigger for the relaunch of the PESCO? How will the new form of cooperation look like? Will the PESCO create a common strategic culture in the military affairs? Do the means of the EU states correspond the ambitions linked to the PESCO? Which new instruments will be introduced through PESCO? How will the education and training of the staff involved in PESCO-programmes look like? Will there be a common European formation? How will the relation between NATO and PESCO look like?

These and other questions will be answered in this event.
